ok, so yeah, I havn't blogged in a day or two. I'm gonna try and start updating sometime here, oh and I sold out and got myspace too. I hate myself for it, but oh well. I just hope I don't get addicted to it like all the tweeners out there, but i don't think that's very likely. alright I might put something on here in the next week. One.

Ok, so I am sitting here after pulling three allnighters in 4 days, with a total of 12 hours fo sleep in four nights. School sucks obviously. So anyway, I am feel like a huge turd, and thought to myself, I havn't shaved in a week, been sitting at my computer for forever, and well, just not been too keen on tryin to keep up on my steez. so I thought to myself, before I go to a mirror and see how I look, i would just take some pics and see how they turn out. These are the results. As you can see I do not have that much facial hair considering it has been a weeks worth of growth, but still...I got a pretty good adam morrison cornache (a corner mustache) and a pretty rockin neard (neck beard). I actuall am just gonna keep this a rockin for a while, we will see what transpires. Peace for now.

No Such Thing

So the movie "No Such Thing" was just on TV tonight. I am currently in the middle of another allnighter for homework purposes, and I saw that this movie was on. I have seen it many times before but i was just reminded of what a sweet film this is. Robert John Burk is an alcoholic monster who lives in Iceland and gets brought over to New York by Sara Polley. It's kind of like an apocolyptic version of"the beauty and the beast". It's funny (usually when the monster tells someone off), but it's not a comedy per se, it's also a drama. If you don't like sad movies don't watch it, but I recommend it for sure. So yeah I just felt compelled to put it on the blog, mainly cause I found this sweet picture of the monster gettin drunk.

Illinoise!!! (Again)

so anyway, I guess sufjan stevens' album "illinois" A.K.A. "Come on feel the Illinoise" Just won album of the year for independent music artists as well as male artist of the year, and album art of the year. I know, I'm just kind of pumped cause I loves me some Sufjan, and It's been a bunch of weeks and I havn't updated my blog in a while, so I need somethin'. So anyway, Sufjan won that, and "Clap Your hands say yeah!" won best new artist, which is good cause they are mumblyish awsome. Also sleater-Kinney won their category too, but their "the woods" album was kind of a lock anyway. So, I'll try and update with something actually interesting soon, maybe some pictures, and a funny story or something. Oh, wait, I have one, but I'll tell it later. one Love

My brother "The Bluebird"

Ok, so my buddy Foosh sent me this picture the other day cause he says it looks like me. Don't ask me where he found it, it's a rare find though. I do love the digs though, after seeing this my mom told me of my brother Brevor Barritt they put up for adoption, now she's a little miffed that he was the one that made it big, I've never felt so ashamed. and is it juet me or are those pants, well... flattering.

Finally, a sweet show

OK, I just got home from a majestic concert. Metric was playing at the UofC. It was awsome. The show started with the first opening act which was a band called "The lovely Feathers" out of Montreal. These guys were pretty sweet, they were kind of a mix between the dead 60's, and maximo park, not too shab, plus they had some rockin' tambourine action by some random dude with a huge beard, and he danced around like he was their own personal version of Baz. The second opening act was "The Most Serene Republic", these guys had quite a set up, despite the pretty crappy name. There was like 8 of them up on stage, and the lead singer rocked a solid Trombone. They sort of resembled the indie pop sound of Death Cab but with maybe a little bright eyes influence. oh, and the lead singer, i could have sworn looked just like Reeve Hunter(seriously delvyn, but I didn't get a picture unfortunatley.) Then Metric came on, and it was a friggin mad house. The show was stella', the fans sucked however, mad pushin' goin' on. And the lead singer, Emily is just a straight up sexy rocker chick.

Funk Night becomes Foot lotion Night

So, Me and some friends went out dancing this weekend to the HI-Fi (a Club), and it was Funk night, after that we went back to their place, and we found some very drunk 18 year olds, one of which were their roommates. yeah, they were naked wearing aprons, anyway, one of them got the idea in their heads that the foot lotion on the coffee table was edible(I might have told him it was). so he ate some of it, and insisted that we do, I did no such thing. but Bre and Andrea did however. the kid in the picture is Tyler, the girl, is breanna and, well, me. one Love.

Treebirds Nest

So what's new with me? well, I'm now studying at the university of calgary. I am taking communications, and some of it's pretty interesting, and some of it is, well, not. Also it was just club week the last week, and i walked past a booth and decided to join a group, just cause, why not. so I joined the indian club. like east indian club. I havn't attended a meeting or anything, but maybe I will. I might even rock some of my sweet indian hats I picked up over there.
Aside from that I am also working at the university radio station, CJSW. right now I'm just helpin out doin odd stuff, sortin music, researching news and bands, and possibly getting into the design aspect. In about 3 months i will have my own radio show slot though, of course i wll start at like 2 in the morning, but whatev, I'm always up that late anyway. I think I'll call the slot "treebird's Nest". The work there is completely volunteer, but it should be some good times and some good experience, considering I might be headed into the broadcasting aspect of communications. Plus, it looks pretty good on a resume for other jobs in that area. not only do I get experience, but also volunteer hours which are a plus.
So yeah, that's the majority of what I've been up to , and still workin at the home depot about 20 hours a week, 20 hours i would rather spend doin somethin' else, but a guys gotta have enough money to buy some duo-tangs for school.
oh, so also, today at school, the whole science wing got blocked off by the cops all day. I guess there was a "suspicious" package deliverd to the department. It just so happened to be the same day that the Mexican President was speaking at the school, coincidence? Probably, it was probably just a care package of some cookies and timbits to one of the students that got mislabeled.
p.s. I didn't go to bed tonight becuase i was busy writing a term paper, and I've realized that from the hours of 2:00 Am to 6:00 am, the only thing on T.V. is "Saved by the bell". man, that was not cool when zach drove drunk.

EmCee/Producer Lushlife has taken Kanye West's album "The College dropout" and infused it with the Beach Boys' "Pet Sounds. he also added some additional instruments to this collab. Chronicles of Narnia is Coming!!!!

The Chronicles of Narnia is going to in theatres December 9th. It wil be the first installment from the books by C.S. Lewis. The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe is going to be awsome, I I have a feeling. Anyone that loves the books is probably anticipating this as much as the Lord of the rings films. I'm more excited about these movies myself.

Cowtown

So, in a couple of weeks I will be moving to Calgary where I will be going to the University of Calgary. I just finished one year at red deer college in a bachelor of communication studies. Once i finish my year at UofC I will be going to SAIT where I will finish the program with 2 years of either public relations, new media production, or television and broadcasting. I am still undecided as to which one of these I want to focus on, so we will see.
As far as work goes I will be working at the Home Depot. It's a pretty easy job but kind of...how do I say this...drains every bit of life out my soul. So I will be working there part time while I go to school.

Come on, Feel the Illinoise!!!

I just went and saw Sufjan Stevens at the Aladdin Theatre in Portland. We were wondering if it was just gonna be him on an acoustic guitar, but nope, full band, trombone, trumpet, banjo, not to mention cheerleader outfits. The entire set covered a majority of his songs from his new album, "Illinois" a.k.a "C'mon feel the Illionoise!".
After the concert I drove west from portland and stayed in a motel. the next day drove all the way to the border, stayed another night in a motel * and then got home at about 2 Am on the 24th. Roadtrip over and it was a blast. Eventually there might be some pictures from my trip up on here. Peace. Sufjan Stevens

Crimebuster

Alright, so I'm on my way down to Bend, Oregon to meet up with Adam and Delvyn, when it gets to be about 1 Am. I pull into Yakima Washington and stop at the first motel I see, its pretty ghetto, but it's cheap. After I get booked in and get all my stuff into my room, I decided to take a walk down to the Taco Bell I saw down the street. I get about a block and a half from my motel when I look across the street and see come big fat guy chasing a black guy. As I watch this fat dude stops running, (obviously tired). The fat guy, then proceeds to yell, "STOP SCOUNDREL, SCOUNDREL". I was just like, "if this guys a scoundrel he must be bad news. So I cross the street and ask the fat guy what's going on and see if he needs a hand. It turns out that he was like a youth group leader or something(which I found when I talked to this guy afterwards), and he has a bunch of young girls staying in a motel a few blocks from here. He said the guy he was chasing was breaking into the rooms and assaulting the girls. So after hearing this, I take off after the guy. I chase him for about 10 blocks, and that's a lot of running for a cat like me. Eventually I catch up to him, and tackle him. I toss him onto the ground and twist his arm behind his back. He is just swearing at me like krazy, and about 2 minutes later the cops show up, jump out and handcuff the guy. Turns out this guy was a schizo and a crackhead they have been after for a while, he's supposedly always doin' stuff like this.
So anyway, this was the first day of my roadtrip down to oregon. It was a pretty crazy start to an awesome roadtrip.

Roadtrip

So, I'm goin' on a roadtrip down to Oregon to visit Adam and Delvyn. I will be gone for about 2 weeks and a bit. And of course I'll be in the Lebaron (Hilary), it's about a 23 hour drive or so. They are by Bend and I'll be with them the majority of the time. Also, my friend Hilary form Boston is gonna be in Portland at the same time as I'm in Oregon, so I'll visit her too. Should be some good times. I will probably have some good stories from the trip when I return.
